INTERNATIONAL PEDIATRIC UROLOGY FELLOWS WORKSHOP
Dear friends and colleagues
We would like to announce and invite our colleagues to International Pediatric Urology Fellows Workshop which will be held between January 13-15, 2020 in Ankara at our institution .
Having received demands from many international colleagues to spend time in our department we decided to set up a workshop and invite our colleagues for an intensive training with structured lectures on various techniques and hands-on-training in the operating room on various pediatric urology cases. The first workshop was held in May 2019. There were more than 30 applications for this workshop but we have been able to accommodate only 10 participants from Poland, Austria, Iraq, Egypt, Greece and Pakistan. This was a great success and we have received an outstanding feedback. As we have stated that we were going to arrange another one in winter; we are happy to announce now that the second workshop will be done in January 13-15, 2020.
This 3-day workshop will include theoretical (lectures on indications and techniques); case discussions and practical education within the operating room. Please see attached the program from the first workshop. The program will be very similar and of course the cases will be chosen based on availability at the time of the workshop but similar in variety. You can also see some pictures from the first workshop.
In this workshop we will have a well-known and highly experienced visiting surgeon also; Emillio Merlini from Italy.
In the afternoon of the first day of the workshop, theoretical lectures will be given and the next day cases will be discussed during the ward round.
In the second and third days, we will have day-long operations on a diversity of pediatric urology cases and with the chance of attendance to the operations.
The number of attendees will be limited to 8 participants.
We will be more than happy to host our colleagues within our everyday working environment but arranged for more intensive and structured training for the surgical cases, sharing experience and having the opportunity of establishing new professional relationships.
The fee includes
- Attendance to lectures and operations (scrubbed)
- Accommodation within the university near the hospital (bed only in single room for 4 nights, Sunday-Wednesday nights)
- Airport transfer to the hospital,
- Food (light breakfast and lunch) and beverages during the day,
- The closing evening dinner,
- Certificate of attendance.
We will try to accommodate urologists or pediatric surgeons who are committing their full-time to pediatric urology or who wish to do so in their career.

Those who have already applied to the previous course ( but could not attend) should send an e-mail stating their interest in joining this workshop. They do not need to fill in the form again.
Since we follow “first come first served” policy I advise you to confirm that you will attend as soon as possible.
